The smell of it is offensive and I'm not easily offended.
I've had dogs all my life and have never had to use one like this, but we ended up doing it because both of my bulldogs spat out weed spoiling piss. Wow! Ooooooo! Talk about shock. That stick/stake/whatever smells the worst in the world. Not only did my dogs not piss on it, but they pulled it out of the ground and quickly destroyed it.
