I haven't engaged the latches in a while but I liked the look of the eagle and flag so I got them for a reasonable price. The first thing that struck me "out of the box" is how rough the "canvas" is. It was neatly folded to fit in the packaging but it wasn't easy to unfold as the product was so rough. With everything out of the box, I set about setting it up to start making the locking hooks. I found that so many colored threads were so similar in color that it was very difficult to tell which color was which. Even my wife had a hard time understanding all of this and her eyesight is much better than mine. Other snap hook kits I've made came with a card with each colored thread tied onto the card, with a number and a small 'shape' added next to each piece of thread to help you figure out which color is which. I also noticed that some threads were thicker than others which would make it very difficult for me to hook them through the canvas, something I learned from other snap hook sets I've worked on. All in all it was a waste of money, please don't waste your money on this set, there are many other great ones out there! which would make it very difficult for me to hook them through the canvas, what I've learned from other snap hook sets I've worked on.
