Works as described.

I've used this same product before. Being that this is to help eliminate sand from the horses' gut to avoid sand colic, I can say that since I've used this product, I have not had an instance of sand colic. So I would have to say it works. And yes, before I started using psyllium of any kind, I did have one horse that had sand colic.

Pros
  • Bo problemsno problems
Cons
  • May not be effective for horses with chronic sand colic issues

An ounce of prevention…

I gave it five stars because it's very palatable. The horses like it. It's a decent value and it's nice to have it delivered.

Pros
  • Feed beet pulp to help daily but do this fir your horse at least three to four times a year
Cons
  • Can cause digestive upset or colic if not given correctly or if overdosed

Good psyllium product

Economical and palatable psyllium pellets that are easy to add to a sweet feed or other pelleted feed and help move sand and debris out of the horses' systems. Seems to work as advertised.

Pros
  • Prevents sand colic and our horses love it
Cons
  • Limited number of scoops per container may not last very long for larger herds
