Built to last with plenty of power.

I confess I was disappointed the first time I used this tool-- I like to enjoy new tool purchases for as long as possible, to savor the fun of setting up a new tool, getting it calibrated to my needs, and then using it on whatever project prompted its acquisition. This tool was ready to go out of the box and was so efficient at doing the job for which I'd purchased it (smoothing bandsaw marks out of interior curves in red oak), that within 10 minutes of opening the box, the job was done and I…

Pros
  • ‎Spindle Sander
Cons
  • Switch can be awkward to use

Two times a charm: my feedback

Bought a used one first which was broken, recommend getting new or refurbished. The new one received seems to work properly and will update once I use it for a time. Ebay helped make the change as easy on me as possible.I have used this a few times now and am pleased with the smooth movement of the spindle and ease in which you can exchange the paper/ spindles. Noise level is slight so hearing protection is not needed.

Pros
  • Comes with six sanding sleeves and drums of various sizes for versatility
Cons
  • Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear

Great time saver best in my review

Pretty good deal. Comes with everything you need for a good smooth finish. Pretty much assembled right out of the box. Has 5 sleeves and sanding tubes. Just put on the size you need and get back to work

Pros
  • Compact size makes it easily portable and takes up minimal workshop space
Cons
  • Dust collection system requires frequent emptying

Another great addition to our shop

I am VERY pleased with this sander. Put it to use on several projects the day it was received. I really like the way the unit drafts the sawdust away from the operator. The motor is strong enough to handle heavy drag on the disc without slowing it down.

Pros
  • The aluminum drum housing dissipates heat for longer tool life
Cons
  • Can be difficult to position on uneven surfaces

Great value for price but not working correct

I love the power this unit had. Did a really good job on sanding. The only problem I had was the on/off switch did not work correctly. Try to contact tech support but did not get to talk to anyone. I got placed a waiting phone call list and have not heard back from them.

Pros
  • Sanding Drum Diameter: 3/4", 1", 1-1/2", 2" and 3"; Sanding Drum Length 4-1/2-Inch
Cons
  • Remote control not included

sweet little unit good for me

sweet little unit. It's going to save me hours of sanding by hand. Ready to go right out of the box. Some people complained about the exhaust port - no problem, dug through my box of plumbing parts and clamped on a 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 fernco, now it fits my little shop vac - nice.

Pros
  • Tilt table feature allows for angled sanding
Cons
  • Noisy enough to disrupt other people nearby

Great sander good for me

I haven’t needed tech support. It is actually bigger the I thought it was going to be. Solid board surface, easy to use and excellent on/off switch. Great tool.

Pros
  • ‎W1831
Cons
  • Plastic components may not hold up well over time
