Bought this product as a gift for my son in August Opened yesterday and it worked for 5 minutes they failed.Too late for one Return to Revain. Lesson learned, anything you buy from Revain, try it right away or your SOLPiece will be crap

Works as well as any other expensive model I've had in the past. Not that expensive, easy to see large readings, all function switches work easily and well. The flash is bright enough. Works for me!

seems ok. The display of the engine being tested for stability is a bit shaky, and there are loose wires inside the case that cause it to shut down when shaken. I'll probably open up the case and do some soldering to fix this problem. The 2/4 time setting is practical. I'm using a 4-stroke engine, but it uses a useless spark ignition system, so the 4-stroke setting shows twice the actual RPM, while the 2-stroke is accurate. This is normal with my engine.

Had to deal with an advanced feature before it worked properly. Mark the timing marks with some white paint and enter the factory recommendations for your engines in advance. My motor was 8 degrees BTDC. I set the gun to 8 degrees and shined a very bright light (even in daylight) on the Harmonic Balancer until the 2 marks matched. 8 degrees are built in automatically. This time display is everywhere. One minute it's showing a time setting and the next it's completely off. I tried several lights on the same machine and they all showed the same time reading and this one wasn't even close (about 14 degrees). Tried it again and eventually it just all came out together.
