First of all, I would like to note the screen. And here it's not about brightness or color reproduction, everything is on the level and does not cause discomfort even when working with graphics (I develop websites and get layouts from the designer in Photoshop). The point is PWM, sometimes flickering is directly noticeable to the naked eye, for example, on a dark screen and with dimmed brightness, it is very uncomfortable to work in this mode. At a brightness of 80-100%, you don’t notice this and everything is in order.
There is an even less annoying moment, but nonetheless. When running on battery power in battery saver mode and Improved Battery, the laptop reduces the color and brightness of the display to reduce power consumption, which is generally not bad, but at some random moments it sometimes temporarily returns it to its previous level, and this is sometimes noticeable. Hopefully this will be fixed with driver ates regarding the new Intel Iris XE Graphics.
Further, rather than shortcomings, just personal inconvenience when moving from Dell Inspirion. The absence of an automatic mode for the keyboard backlight, you can not set it, it automatically turned on when using the keyboard.
The card reader is missing. Of course, this is solved externally for 300, but it's still somewhat inconvenient. Well, of course, I would like one more USB port in this case, so that you do not have to turn off the mouse.
Under load, it heats up to the left of the touchpad, under the left palm. Not critical at all, but I don't really like it.
You get used to the non-standard location of Fn-Ctrl, and not Ctrl-Fn, in another week of use.
