Bulbs were bright enough, not too bright. A standard 921 bulb is 450 lumens, which is more, but red to make it appear smoother. Because the bulb is double-sided, there are darker areas on the top and bottom of my VW Golf's body. I use these on my GSXR-600 (I believe they are parking lights) next to the headlights. They're red, so obviously not the brightest lights in the world, but even with a tinted headlight cover, red can be seen from a distance during the day and looks fantastic at night.
