90% savings! for interior

I used it on my 1998 Ford Taurus. I programmed it to watch YouTube. It cost $60. Plus a couple for programming and I bought this one for less than $7. I programmed it so I didn't have to pay for it. Easy to set up. You turn the ignition on 8 or 9 times until you hear the doors lock. Then press a button on the remote control. She is programmed. Turn off the machine.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Sad device

You get what you pay for. Cheap!

Update in 2 months!: The key fob turned off the horn and opened the trunk when carried in the pocket. Ridiculous. Says 60 day warranty but no contact info. It is better to take another brand. Went back to my 20 year old FOB. Original review: Inexpensive and fits my 2000 Ford Taurus SE - the original became problematic after 21 years[!]. It comes with a built-in battery - don't forget that. You need to know how to program your FOB. Will this last another 21 years (NO!).

Works great for 2003 Taurus

Yes it works great for 2003 Taurus. I was concerned at first because there were no instructions or the promised URL link, but reading the questions section above the overview gave me the information I needed. One person said "toggle from off to ACC 8 times" (didn't work), another said "toggle from off to on 8 times". IT WORKS OUT. The car will respond to you by locking and unlocking the doors multiple times until you respond/confirm by pressing the door lock button on the new fob to confirm.

Easy to program. Works perfectly.

programmed in less than 5 minutes. This includes the time to go to the machine to program it. Works the same as the OEM remote control. The only downside is that the plastic loop that you attach your key ring to has two small loops for each half of the key fob that have a small space between them and don't touch like the OEM. This means it's more likely to break, as happened with the last aftermarket replacement I got from another source. If the two halves of the keychain's end touched, the end

Trash - don't buy (doesn't work for Taurus)

The instructions on this page were wrong, but I found others online who helped me program the fob only to find that it was unresponsive at all. I thought I might like the new keychain so I went that route - it was a mistake. I then replaced and successfully programmed the battery on my old fob, as well as another new fob, so this is clearly not user error. I even tried replacing the battery in case it was a random error, but that didn't work either (tried at least a dozen times and got others…

Extremely bad quality. Nice replacement case.

The ease of programming this keyless remote is amazing. I did it in a minute with no problems. Problems arise due to the actual range of the remote after programming. The range of this keyless remote control is very short. I had to stand close to my car window to unlock the driver and passenger side. After about 5 tests to see if I was crazy, the passenger side button stopped working at all. Then the driver's side stopped working. I wasn't too concerned as I still had the factory remote. The…

Shell used only

I have read many reviews of these replacement key fobs and my attention was drawn to the one where someone bought a replacement and just swapped out the circuit board inside and it worked great. That's what I did, I had two original Ford key fobs that had part of the key ring broken, ordered two replacement parts, replaced the circuit board and put in the battery from the Ford key fobs and now I have two great new key fobs! I also used the new rubber button. Since I used the original Ford…

It's cheap, but it works.

Cheap quality, not just price. Feels thin in hands. It also took 3-4 attempts to sync it to the car before it worked, although it had to be repeated multiple times each time it closed/opened the doors meaning it was supposed to work. I wasn't sure if it would work with my trunk but all the buttons work. I even tested it in my living room - a second floor apartment and at least 30 feet from the car (probably more like 40-50 feet away) and it caused a panic from there. So I'm happy. But I also…
