The main problem with these rubber pads on Toyota cars is that the groove is not deep enough for the depth of the car's crimped edge so they work for a while but eventually start to tear when the flange of the car digs into the bottom of the cushion. I took a rubber band, cut out the pieces and glued them to the pad with rubber glue to add an extra 1/4" thickness at the top of each side of the pad. It seems to work great. and the original pad doesn't have any new cuts .
