Type of review

Experienced bike mechanic who spends the summers downhill mountain biking. Thought I'd save a few dollars and give these a try. I bought two sets for front and rear(4 sets of pads) for Sram Guide brakes. Cleaned rotors with rubbing alcohol, installed pads (had to reuse the existing Sram locking bolts as these just come with a cotter pin) and properly bedded the pads in (15-20 heat cycles). First ride, SQUEEL and limited stopping power. Cleaned pads and rotors again, resurfaced rotors (wet/dry…

Pros
  • Low cost , low noise, effective
Cons
  • Semi metallic? These wore out quickly, faster than regular resin pads

Too thick for 2018Guide R brakes

I have Guide R brakes and purchased the semi-metalic pads. They are too thick to fit between the pistons and the rotar. Returning them to Ebay. I have used Jagwire brand in the past (for the same bike) and did not have any problem simply dropping in the new pads.

Pros
  • Saved tons of money, they work great, never faded even on reddish knob decent, no noise
Cons
  • Sintered metal pads are too noisy

Good thus far, for my opinion

I have SRAM Guide R brakes so I went for this cheaper option as oppose to buying the official SRAM pads. I like resin pads because they are less noisy on the trails. I understand they wear faster but I do not mind spending $10 or $11 for these pads. Thus far they have performed well with no noise. If looking for resin pads for SRAM breaks I would give these a try for $10.

Pros
  • Work great so far. Just as advertised!
Cons
  • Weak braking power

Poor quality pad material

2 for $10 - I gave it a try on both brakes.400 miles in the rear started squealing, metal-on-metal, like I'd worn it down already. But it was not too worn - there was a large metal blob showing in the material (see picture).I'll not be buying these again and I worry about my front brake now.

Pros
  • ‎BP-XO-Semi
Cons
  • Can be very time consuming to replace
