Does not stick to the mat

We use the blue tape on the mats, or on floors when out of the dojo, to lay down lines, hold things to the floor, things like that. It will not hold for more than a few minutes. We went back to using True Blue tape - a mite more expensive but very much well worth it. We go through a case every month or so.For ours uses taping the mats at a dojo, it'd be a one star - but I tried it on the walls (no paint) and it seemed to stick okay so it may well be useful as intended, as a painter's masking…

Pros
  • Can be used for masking and sealing
Cons
  • May not work well with certain types of wood.

Not so bad afterall - re-review

Originally disappointed in the quality of this tape and gave it 1-star. Decided to keep it after finding only the outmost layer was bad. Since I had to pry the rolls off from one another the first layers are bad from heat exposure. Decent tape once you get through the sticky layers

Pros
  • Non-toxic
Cons
  • May not work well with certain types of coatings.

Falls off by itself

I was going to paint a 2nd coat the next day, but when I came out, the tape (and the paper it was holding) were laying on the ground. I cut the paper and retaped. After a few minutes as the paint began to dry, the tape began releasing. I have experienced some of this with other tapes, but this one was the worst.

Pros
  • Masking Tape
Cons
  • The tape might not stick to the surface evenly.

Tape does not tear off without ripping.

I am unable to get past 6 inches of tape before it tears to one side or the other. I have to note that this is possibly due to the fact that the 3 rolls of tape had the sides of the roll squished in. so were almost flat on opposite sides. Guessing this was done during storage as it has maintained its odd shape. Unsure if tape would work well. as unable to unroll it without ripping.

Pros
  • Comes off the roll and unwinds easily, does not curl unnecessarily in the hand, conformable and can be applied easily. Weather Resistant and is ISO 9001:2008 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) Certified
Cons
  • Might require multiple layers to achieve desired results.

I purchased this tape on a tight timeline, as I needed it for a class in calligraphy that I am teaching to 8 senior citizens in our community center. It came promptly, exactly when ebay said. I use this tape to hold large pieces of freezer paper (2 ft x 4 ft) to a painted wall I write on this with an oversize magic marker (the plasticized back keeps the magic marker ink from going through to the wall). I need the tape to both hold the paper securely in place while I'm using it to demonstrate…

Pros
  • Residue-free
Cons
  • Only sold in a pack of 3, difficult to buy singles.

Cant beat the price

For the price, this tape was great. It did its job in creating a clean line for me while painting. The 2 inch thickness was great for the seam at the floor to just roll all the way to the bottom of the wall without worrying about painting getting on the floor. The pieces that I put on vertical areas did not last very long, but it didn't really matter for me. I taped then immediately painted. I didn't remove the tape when I was done painting, but let it sit over night to dry. When I came back…

Pros
  • Blue Painters Tape with Anti-Bleeding Properties capable of delivering Sharp Lines and Narrow Edges which is Ideal for both Home and Automobile Painting.
Cons
  • Not suitable for delicate surfaces.

rips into tiny pieces when pulling off the roll

Pieces rip off of this, making it hard to pull a full piece. Not strong enough I guess. Works great if you can get a full piece off but maddening to get it off the roll sometimes.

Pros
  • Came early and was exactly what I expected ata great price
Cons
  • No matter how clean the surface is it doesn’t stick well at all.

Sticky situation best in my review

Tape is actually too sticky. It rips into pieces coming off the roll then stuck so well to my trim that it pulled that paint off.

Pros
  • Easy to remove and use
Cons
  • Not suitable for outdoor use.

Good product and would order again.

I'm an older woman who was not allowed to take shop classes or anything that would prepare me for simple home repairs. So I can't compare products or say much about this tape, but when I was unable to find someone to redo the caulking and grouting in the bathroom (too small a job) I decided to watch youtube videos and give it a try and ordered this tape to corral the grout and caulk. I am not an experienced home repair person, so I need all the help I can get. This tape stayed in place and…

Pros
  • Could of been better
Cons
  • The tape might curl up or lift off the surface while painting.

So you're thinking ahead, huh?

Congratulations. You're thinking ahead and buying painting supplies before you start your project. Good for you. Now let me tell you, this is a product you will regret buying. It will mean you're driving to the big box store, what you were trying to avoid, after you're ready to start masking and edging. Avoid at all costs. Mine is being returned right now.The tape is IMPOSSIBLE to pull in one piece. Whether it's warm, cold, room temp, etc. It shreds into bits, not a single usable piece can be…

Pros
  • Adheres well to surfaces
Cons
  • The tape might rip easily.

Works Okay - my new review

Sticks fairly well . Does stop paint from bleeding. Hard to find end of tape when starting a new roll. Could use some type of marking.

Pros
  • thumbs up
Cons
  • Used tape on a Wednesday and was peeling by Monday. Not impressed. Would not buy again

Product rips apart: my feedback

Product is cheap and rips apart. I use it for labeling so it's not too bad. However, for painting, this product will not be good enough to use.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Might not work well with certain types of paints.
