It works. it's soft, what else do you need?

What is. soft pad to provide some cushioning between sandpaper and DA/grinder. this is def helps not to remove too much material from corners or ledges when sanding, but remember you should still tape off the corners/edges unless you really know what you're doing. I did manage to accidentally peel paint off an edge or two, but that was my fault, not the interface pads. 3M charges a lot for their products, but in the end the thing works and feels pretty tough.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • High price

This marvel is the best among body repair tools

There were several reviews condemning this product. I can now tell you they are wrong, wrong, wrong! I have a Porter Cable 7346 6 foot grinder. Professional carpenter with 35 years of experience. I sort of retired 2 years ago, but once a carpenter is always a woodworker. I have two bed orders that I need to finish this week. I normally use air grinders, but since retiring I have sold most of my industrial equipment. I saved the Porter Cable Grinder and bought a regular hook and loop pad here on

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Vulgarity

3M is no longer a rugged machine

I thought 3M would be a safe bet when I paid the premium for this mat. remained on the cutting plate. The interface panel deteriorated and became unusable after about 30 minutes of use. Very disappointed in this product and will forever be the second guess for 3M products in the future.

Pros
  • Soft foam construction conforms to contours for a finer finish
Cons
  • Durability

Great for sanding contoured surfaces

Excellent for sanding contoured surfaces. I use it on my old Hutchins. Particularly suitable for the final sanding of primers or clear coats for quick wet or dry sanding. You should get a proper base plate with velcro. Deal with it properly. Don't push too hard or catch the edge wrong. I've had mine for 2 years now and have used it a lot.

Pros
  • Adds pad support for improved abrasive cut and finer edge sanding
Cons
  • Not bad
