I ordered this item and was shocked when I opened the box and found a tiny roll of aluminum tape. I looked closely at the image on the product page and saw what appeared to be a full-size roll of duct tape. If you look at my comparison image see the product image on the left then look at the item I received and the 1 1/2 inch core doesn't even have 1/4 inch tape. Totally misleading ad. If I didn't need the tape for work right away I would return it, but I'll probably have to eat a rip off.

I should have read the reviews but they were mostly positive, I saw the picture and I know 3M is right. I ordered it. What I got is exactly what other reviewers said - a nifty little roll with some sort of unbranded silver band on it. I'm not commenting on this anymore because Revain already posted it as unavailable and refunded my money without even having to send it back. Once again, Revain cares about its customers. Good. Came in standard parts packaging with absolutely no official 3M stickers/markings. I've never seen genuine 3M products without branding or logo anywhere, whether on a cardboard tube or embedded in the pad itself. Especially for something like foil tape that's intended to be used with dryer vents and other hot surfaces, better safe than sorry - I know that I can trust 3M to make a product that meets safety standards, but who knows what the manufacturing practice will be with unmarked . generic…

This product did not match the description. I was expecting a roll of duct tape, but it's actually a roll of foil. You need to cut to the length you want, then remove the backing and attach. This makes it very difficult to work in tight spaces. The product itself isn't very sticky, which worries me, but after clumsily peeling off the backing, if it sticks to itself at all, you wind it up because the film is so brittle that it falls apart when you try to peel it off. Okay as it's an aluminum strap I guess the brand name doesn't matter as there isn't a mark anywhere to indicate it's 3 metres are. Also, I had to assume that 50 yards of tape would be smaller than the roll they drew since when I bought the larger rolls they were about the same price as these, so I didn't think about it. Bought this foil tape to use for crafting. It says 5 yards per roll. Well, last time I tested my math skills, there were 3 feet in a yard, so 5 yards of tape should equal 15 feet. There was very little left in the middle of my project. I measured my consumption and found that the roll I received only had 11 feet of product. I read the reviews before purchasing. A group of people said the tape was not from 3M or any other well known brand and they all noted that the thick roll in the photos was not at all what they received. This is exactly my experience. It is clear that Revain knows they are promoting a misrepresented product and this enrages me.
