Great tight neck but expect it to shrink.

I bought these for work, a paramedic, I was looking for a t-shirt with a very small/narrow opening for the neck. These shirts have the smallest neck holes I've found and claim to be "very long" which they were until I washed them. These shirts shrank about 10-15% after the first wash in the cold. So just in your head. They still fit me very well, but be aware that you can go up a size if that bothers you. The shirts are also not as soft as I would like, they are much softer after the first…

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons

5.11 why did you change your shirt!

5.11 why did you change your shirts! The original shirts were the best undershirts I've ever had for work and they held up very well. Now these new ones are fine but the collar has worn off after a few months and the shirt as a whole doesn't seem to be holding up as well as the old ones.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • threadbare

In 2009/2010 these were the best shirts on the market

5.11 sold out do not buy these shirts. In 2009/2010 these were the best shirts on the market. Today they are among the worst. The material isn't what it used to be, once you start sweating the whole shirt loses its stretch and becomes a cheap cotton shirt that you get as a gift at some event. Extremely disappointed with 5.11, the only reason I still carry 5.11 products is because they are free from my division. Don't waste your money guys, you've been warned.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent

They don't make them what they used to be

Don't buy them believing they are what you used to buy from 5.11 onwards. They changed the way they are made and the quality sucks! I've bought many packs over the years and they've been amazing, now they're terrible! Don't waste money on them. I would love to return them but I washed them as soon as they arrived and now I'm stuck with 6 shirts that fit poorly and the quality just isn't there.

Disappointed with the fit of the collar.

First use without washing was a perfect fit with a great collar. After 2 washes the collar looks terrible. For those who need to wear these shirts with their uniform, I DO NOT RECOMMEND them. They are expensive and not heavy. 😑

Pros
  • As everything before
Cons
  • Poor kit

Standout T-Shirts

I started wearing these t-shirts under my uniform over 13 years ago. Then 3 shirts cost $19.99. I think 5.11 makes them better as they seem to last longer. One problem I've had in the past is that the sleeves ripped under the armpits. However, with the way 5.11 produces them now, I didn't have that problem. The moisture wicking properties are incredible. In the summer, I stay dry even in 12-hour shifts. I love the fit of these shirts. The collar is snug fitting and will not sag after use and…

Terrible customer service, poor quality.

Well I've been a 5.11 customer for over 8 years and buy a lot of shirts, pants and singlets for law enforcement. When I opened this last undershirt, there was a stain on one of them. It's okay because they're jerseys. After one use and one wash, the stain dissipated leaving a large hole. Not normal. If it were a few bucks shirts, anything, but at over $10 a shirt, I'm not losing anything after one use. I contacted customer service, sent them pictures and they "decided it wasn't a manufacturing…

Good, not so good.: T-shirts

These t-shirts are nice and soft and true to size. My reasons for only giving them 3 stars are: I'm not sure about their durability. They feel good now but I doubt how well they will hold up over time. Also, they didn't seem to be longer than a regular t-shirt. Being a tall and tall guy I ordered these shirts hoping they would stay tucked in well. You are not. They also shrink a bit after the first wash. Not to the point that they can't be worn, but definitely enough to notice that they're more

Pros
  • Quality construction

  • Long wait

Quality has changed over the years

The quality of these t-shirts has changed over the years. I first bought 5.11 40016 shirts in 2009 and have noticed a change in quality since 2011 when I bought more shirts. I use shirts as a base layer on a weekly basis. Although these shirts are longer than regular t-shirts, the shirts I bought in 2009 have a softer feel, wider shoulders and longer sleeves than the shirts I bought for presentation in 2011. All shirts will shrink noticeably unless dried on low settings. Older shirts have a…
