Lasted less than a month. Now overheating.

Local suppliers are running low so I contacted Revain to get this motor with a faster delivery than my AC company could deliver. For the first week I thought it was a great replacement for the engine. I've been on the road a bit for a couple of weeks and when I got home from vacation I found that the motor was regularly overheating and shutting down (or stalling). After a long cool down period it worked again. My AC company advised me to return it or exchange it for a new one, but of course as…

3-wire installation and CW/CCW

In a 3-wire installation, the yellow wire and the brown or purple wire only connect to each other, but not to anything else in your system. To find out if you need to turn counter-clockwise or clockwise, look at the back of the motor with the blades hanging down (not sitting on the ground and the blades sticking up). Excellent replacement for motor

The fan motor on my 2005 Rheem air conditioner has stopped working. After some searching I came across an engine here. My old fan had 3 wires and this new one had 5. The schematic that came with it wasn't very good and didn't explain how to wire it, but I eventually figured it out. I also had to reverse the bolts on the motor so I could install it properly.
