Sometimes I want to use something more like a story stick than a tape measure. Especially when measuring interior distances like stair posts. Sometimes I like to use inches. Sometimes I like to use metrics. With this stick you can use any. And unlike tape, internal measurements are easy.

I use 2 or 3 sticks a year. I carry 3 different rulers with me for work, one of them a small version of 1 meter, a tape measure of 25 feet. I replaced some of these because the joints don't fall as the joints shear off when the ruler hits the edge. I've never had to replace a rule like this with an expand or drag or other "normal" processing. It has both regression and flexibility
