I've been replacing shutter magnets with plastic housings for years. The sun just causes them to crack after about a year and I was getting tired of replacing them over and over. These seem very solid and housed in metal so I expect them to last many years. The only downside is the screw holes didn't align exactly but at least they were a bit wider than the old ones so i was able to use one existing hole and the magnet covered the second old one. They work perfectly.

I bought the 20 lb version which includes six magnet/plate sets. These fit my purposes well… I was looking to keep some cabinet and pantry doors closed so that our dogs or cat would not be able to open them. They seem to do that well (20 pounds was a good choice for that).Each set uses 4 screws (2 for the magnet, 2 for the plate). There should therefore have been 24 screws included. My package only included 20 screws.

I bought these 15 pound pull door catches to replace the hardware on our original 1950s closet door (23"W x 79"H, hollow core oak). They install easily and do what they say, but next time I'd get the next heavier magnet with a stronger pull weight. They hold the door closed, but you have to push the door closed all the way before the magnet does its job (no giving it a general push in the right direction for the magnet to pull it closed the rest of the way).

I finally got around to fixing some shutters where the staples had pulled out from the connections between the slats and the control arm. The YouTube video I watched to learn how to do this also mentioned replacing broken magnetic catches. I hadn't even realized our old plastic ones were almost all broken, probably because the plastic got brittle after years of sun exposure. These metal ones will probably last forever. These are slightly larger than the original catches (which was my mistake)…

I used these to keep cabinet doors closed. They are easy to install and use. I just bought more for the rest of my workshop cabinets.

very strong magnets keep my new cabinet doors tightly closed. The quality of the included screws is poor, so be sure to drill a large pilot hole, or the phillips will strip out.

Two out of the three have shattered magnets but one is good. Lucky the price isn't too bad. But I would expect a little better quality. Oh well kind of common.

Very strong magnetic latches. The installation screws did not hold up to extreme torque. Broke two screws off (out of eight) while installing. Latch great, screws not!

These magnets were either faulty or misrepresented. I mounted these on an aquarium stand and they were used on a very light wooden door with hinges. The magnet latch would not keep a 7 lbs. door closed.

Honestly you better have the patience if Jesus Christ if you purchase theses! They are a nightmare to put on so sent them back!

My gate was swinging open in the wind. This was just right to keep it closed, yet still be easy for a person to open it.Every gate and wind exposure will be different.

Subtracted 2 stars. -1 because the screws are terrible and not really even the right size. These would be so much easier to install with some sticky tape on the back to hold them in place before you screw them in (with you own screws). -1 because they claim to hold 20lbs but 4 of them couldn’t hold 5lbs.I tried to use 4 of these to attempt to keep a 24” lower cabinet door in place without the hinges. Exactly what I needed to hold an inside cooler cover to the wall; much stronger than anything readily available from the box stores, and corrosion-resistant as well. My only complaint is that the magnets are rigid within the mount, instead of "wobbly" as many designs are. meaning that the positioning of the magnets has pretty much zero tolerance if you want a firm grip with no extra space on closure. It took a good hour to fine-tune the positions of all four magnets for an ideal mount. But the…

What can I say? These are pretty strong and were a breeze to install! We installed these to replace some 20+ year old smaller magnets that our cats were able to open. Since we don’t like searching for our cats inside of closets, we decided to try these out. Luckily, my fiancé has been going to the gym and we are both able to muster the strength to open the doors. Our cats are out of luck now though.
