I want to love them but

I want to love these socks. I find them very comfortable and very warm. They're a bit narrow on the sides of the foot, but it's not uncomfortable at all. My only problem is that a pair's tops unravel the second wear. I need them to hold a little longer than two socks. To update. I have to take off another star because the other pair has a hole in the first.

Cotton, that's the problem.

Living in Florida I can't attest to their warmth and have only had them for about a month, enough time to wash all six pairs at least twice so can't comment on durability. Because they are cotton and long, they are not easy to put on and take off after two washes. I plan on giving them to GoodWill and am trying to find thick socks made out of stretchy synthetic material. I have a pair of thick wool socks that are easier to put on and take off. I want thick socks to prevent plantar fasciitis and

not suitable for human legs

Let's see. I have a size 11, right in the middle of the recommended range, and they are too tight. Second, the middle of these socks is tighter than the rest of the socks, which makes you feel like the middle of your foot is constantly being squeezed. This is as annoying as it sounds and nothing in the site description warns you about it. Third, as mentioned in other reviews, they don't even keep your feet warm, which is the whole point of these socks, so they're painful and useless. They look…

Inaccurate description online

I did not understand what I bought. They were all supposed to be wool, but it turned out to be a blend of wool, cotton, polyester and rayon. It was very disappointing as were the colors. They sent me all black and shades of black. I was really hoping for some color and they are ribbed around the arch which is both a good and bad thing. Since I only wear them indoors, I'm calling it bad, but a lot of people might like it. Overall they are very warm and I would probably give them five stars if…

Highly recommended, great quality!

These socks are great quality and my husband loves them! I bought socks that fit a size 12 shoe, although my husband wears a size 13 shoe and they fit him perfectly. He likes the fact that they don't go too high up the leg, but roomy enough for warmth and comfort. He is not a hiker, he has diabetes with neuropathy in his legs and his feet often get cold. So it's great for him as he wears them at home all year round. They wash and dry well, won't roll or shrink. When they wear out I will…

Just ordered more. on Clothing

Where I live, it's nice to have warm socks in the house when it gets cold. I like the stretchy, comfortable wool blend for warmth and that fits without being too tight (I wear shoe size 14). They are perfect for that and since you have to fight for the perfect sock for that purpose every 2-3 years I have ordered more to keep on the shelf until I wear them out. I doubt they will last long in boots and hiking after years of serious hiking; For this I would recommend something more durable with…

Thick but not warm.

Nice and thick, seems to hold up well. However, if you're looking for the thermal properties of wool, don't buy it. Although the name says it's wool, it's actually mostly cotton. That is, as soon as they get even slightly damp, they become very cold. I only use them to go to class in the snow, so I don't really care. If you're looking for socks for hiking or skiing in cold weather, look elsewhere. Edit: I am revising my review to one star. These socks are COLD! They are so cold that I also…
