Love My Bolts - Hitch Accessories

Bolted locks are great. Cozy. Secure. I like using the same key for almost everything; 2" padlock, hitch lock, spare tire cable lock and now a hitch lock. Love them all.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Upgrades available

different car keys open it.

Ordered as a gift with a lock. My buddy has a 2018 Chevy 2500 and I have a 2016. Both truck keys can open it and the hitch lock once attached to its key. It seems like a good product, but it just needs a similar indication of what's good about it.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Not bad

I like it but wish it could be reassigned

I have three trailers that I leave unattended in a commercial area. I bought three of these and am very happy with the simple button design. Using my car key is a brilliant idea, but not being able to exchange it for a different key in a car swap is not. For that reason alone I didn't give it four stars.

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • No

Like the idea of being able to be single.

You simply insert the ignition key into the lock and turn it all the way, and the lock will match your key. I bought them for my hitch, gate and a couple of trailers and now I have one key that unlocks everything. I love the idea of having one key for all my locks, wish I'd known sooner.

Pros
  • Excellent all-around performance
Cons
  • Unreliable

It's convenient to use one key for everything, but impractical.

Works well and is nice that you don't need another key, but a nice design. It works as expected, the clutch fixes well but the pin seems to be too long. I also understand that the locking mechanism needs to be a certain size to accommodate the key, but it seems very large and cumbersome compared to the pin. Overall good but impractical

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Modification may be required

Note that a narrow link mechanism allows the pin to be rotated 90 degrees and pulled straight through the latch. The solution is to put some 3/8 stainless steel nuts on the stud on the opposite side of the lock and tighten the lock securely. Or drill a hole in the pin and install the cotter pin. The BOLT concept is good, but you should only put the big end on the pin, not the short bend.

Pros
  • Satisfied
Cons
  • Repair

Nice lock but only a few nitpicks!

I bought this for my new PJ 7712 Bulldog trailer and it fits great. It's a drawbar lock, so as long as it fits and is secure enough to prevent someone from stealing my trailer, there's really no chance of losing it. But any ban is just a deterrent. NO LOCK is 100% secure. When I first registered my key I was surprised at how much resistance there was and how squeaky the lock was, but that was just to put it on my key, after that it's pretty smooth. I was a little concerned that something would…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Fits
