Works well on my Crossfire/MB R170. Didn't compress enough so had to unscrew the LCA to get the springs out, but that's not the product's fault. It's durable and customizable.

It is important to follow the instructions, never use an impact wrench and to lubricate the threads from time to time to ensure smooth operation.

I used this supercharger to overhaul the front of my 87 190e 2.3-16. I can't imagine working without him. You might be able to decompress the springs without a compressor, but I can't imagine compressing them for assembly without one. This compressor makes it quick and easy. Lubricate the threaded rod regularly and use hand tools to twist/compress.
