Perfect - Aquaclear impeller shaft replacement

No big deal but my original lasted over a year and I'm sure this one will last just as long. Maybe it will patch longer. I have a sponge on the inlet to keep the sand from getting back in and damaging the components (hopefully) so we'll see.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Just what I needed for my Fluval 70

This beautiful and slim shaft is the perfect size! (That's what she said.) The sand wore down my last impeller shaft and caused my filter to make a horrible crunch. Replacing a part is much cheaper than buying a new engine. Now my filter is completely still.

bam! Fixed! suitable for fish and aquatic animals

will always try first! Pssst, for the money! I'm pretty sure I replaced a lot more pumps than I needed - stupid, I just didn't know replacing this thing was even possible. He pulled out the old one with the point of a needle and put the new one in place with his hand. BAMM! FIXED! What a feeling *thumbs up*

Pros
  • nice to use
Cons
  • boring packaging

Be careful on sandy ground!

I am writing this review because I am waiting to replace this impeller shaft. This product will NOT withstand the ingress of sand into the impeller shell. Obviously this is the weak point of the whole Aquaclear design. That being said the product works great on my other tank and actually works great on the tank in question too, it just wears out quickly if it picks up dirt like sand. I installed a pre-filter and am hoping this will get rid of my sand problems. And yes, it still works well, even

Fixed noise issue with old Aquaclear 150

My old Aquaclear 150 (now Aquaclear 30) was quite noisy when I installed it after storage. I have cleaned it almost perfectly but the problem is no deposits on the impeller shell. I then examined the impeller and it was found that the impeller and the magnet attached to it are in good condition. The only thing that remains intact is the impeller shaft. I pulled it out of the engine with pliers. Of course there were some signs of wear from the past few years. Because of this, the impeller…

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Vulgarity

When the Aquaclear filter starts making more noise than before, pull out the impeller shaft. This is a thin metal rod that the impeller assembly spins on. This rod must have a perfectly uniform diameter throughout the length of the rod. As it wears out, it starts to thin out in the middle. Due to the thinner bar, the impeller assembly wobbles back and forth and the motor bangs against the sides, causing noise. I use my filter 24/7. I realized I replaced the impeller shaft 9 months after my last

Pros
  • Outstanding performance
Cons
  • When in doubt
