Will not fit Chevy 2500HD rear hub nut

Strong enough. But. does not fit the truck spindle nut. I had to completely destroy any possibility of a return. I ground 8 pins on the socket to fit the slots for the round nuts. You have to push really hard to keep the bushing in the nut as you turn it. Retracts and disengages when pressure is applied to ratchet to rotate. Why can't removing and tightening the Chevy 2500 Series rear hub/spindle be suitable for these applications?

  • New
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Small change required but worth it

I bought this for a GM 14 hole (10.5 inch cog). I knew I'd be removing and inserting the bushings a few times for a custom build, so instead of a puncher (which works really easily) I went with this. I finally read another review or YouTube (can't remember) that mentioned rounding off the pins that grip the axle nut. It didn't fit snugly until I rounded the edges. I did this once with a grinder (5 minutes) - works like a charm.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

With a little modification everything will work.

I used this wrench to tighten the collar that holds the axle assembly on the right rear differential on my Chevy Silverado heavy truck. With a little reshaping with a small hand file I was able to get it working. However, it was a lot better than paying a Chevrolet dealership a whopping $900 for a GM tool. This item, on the other hand, only cost me $12. You sincerely thank me for this product. This wrench allowed the correct torque to be applied as specified in the overhaul manual. The onlyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

The main problem is that the "teeth" on the tool are straight and the notches on the nut are round. It's the classic saying, "You can't put a square pin in a round hole," and that's exactly what this tool does. Hand file or Dremel and emery wheel. Just go in and round off all the inside corners of the teeth and then they will fit perfectly. (See before and after pictures and close-ups). You get what you pay for. I paid about $14 and it took about 10 minutes to fix the error which wasn't a bigโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Decent performance
