Nice upgrade: External accessories

Tired of the flat 4-wire cable harness, i.e. the cables are hidden in a waterproof box and attached to the trailer. Now I have a nice solid wiring harness

Good work. I installed and connected it.

Worked well. I installed it and connected it to the tractor and then checked the wiring with a multimeter. Once I set the correct terminal IDs, there was no problem with the wiring. For the price, the little extra effort was worth it.

Cons
  • Long delivery time

the connector and wiring are fine but when I tried to remove the cover the screws holding the plate were over tightened. After I installed the box and went back to put the lid back on, both the bolts and screws on the lid were broken down to the bottom. Now the screws can no longer be tightened because the bolts are broken.

Cons
  • Vulgarity

A great thing. Sealed outlet

Cool stuff. The socket is sealed. So if you have a problem, you no longer have to open the connector and try to squeeze 7 exposed wires into a tight housing, hoping they don't short out. You immediately eliminate a failure point. Troubleshooting trailer wiring becomes a lot easier when all the wires are almost assembled in this large junction box.

Plug end not properly connected

The junction box was easy to install on my trailer and connect the trailer wiring to the color coded wire studs was easy, but the plug end was miswired from the factory. After realizing that the trailer would power my truck again and the truck's headlights were on even when the truck was off, I took it to the trailer dealer/mechanic. A new plug cost me $10 and at least 1/2 hour labor ($50) for them to diagnose and fix. It would be cheaper if they sold me one and installed it.

The wiring is of good quality and the junction box is sealed.

For the price, this product can't be beat. The electrical wiring is of good quality, the junction box is sealed. The 7-way has double pin connections and is solidly constructed. As this is an RV plug, the colors do not match the industry standard for trailer lighting. So take the time to connect the right cables. The 7 pin RV option seems to be a common 7 pin style on the market as I have not been able to find a 7 pin cable with the correct wire color anywhere. However, if you're looking for a…

Check continuity.: Tow and winch connectors

The end of the plug does not match the factory socket on my vehicle. I hooked up a couple of rental trailers to my truck and they were all wired the same way and all previous headlights matched the same wiring. In the past, even using a 7 to 4 cable adapter has always worked. Brown = Park, incorrect connector position. was the wrong position was wrong on the connector white = ground was the right position was right on the connector I didn't check other colors because I hadn't adjusted the…

DEFECTIVE PRODUCT, DIFFICULT TO RETURN

I bought it a few months ago, complete with trailer upgrades. It appeared to be of high quality, but after several hours of installation and testing, I found that the right wire (brown) was shorted to the ground wire (white) in the cable. I disconnected all terminals and the ground fault remained in the potted cable. I contacted the seller who informed me that we were "outside the back window". The product was sold with a manufacturing defect and the only answer is a return policy? After…

Worked great good quality for the price

I bought this box for a toy tractor I am building. As it turned out, I didn't need a 6 foot cable (four would be more than enough), but I'm perfectly happy with the quality of the device. A lot of reviews here say that the pre-wiring on the unit is "wrong", but that's not the case. The pre-wiring fits standard US RV wiring, but most 7-pin US truck plugs will plug into a cargo trailer and not an RV. The standards for this type of wiring are different. So, for those who had to "rewire" the box…
