It's a heavy animal. Great for the main castle.

Bought as a primary lock of 3 for my ebike/emoped. That's a beast. The only person I've seen who can hack this is a YouTube hack advocate. Other videos I've seen online say it's incredibly difficult to saw/sand. no lock is protected against theft. but it's pretty high up there.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

Worth the Effort - Bike Locks

These chains are covered to avoid scratching the car. Elastic and not bulky. They weigh a little but I have a chain to attach my mountain bike to my car so the weight isn't an issue. I bought three chains totaling 13 feet. Expensive, yes, but my bike is many times more expensive. I can go to a restaurant and be sure that my bike will be there when I get off.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Great chain, length and weight not as advertised although

Seems to be a great chain but I have to go down a size. Length and weight are not listed in the description. 170 cm is 5 feet 7 inches, NOT 57 inches as stated in the description. We ended up with a chain that was 10 inches longer than described. It also has a listed weight of 6.1lbs, actual weight is 8.4lbs. I think they confused the description between two different chain lengths. I'm sure I'll be happy with it when I get the shorter length I need.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Big size - I love the light function

I store my bike outside (I live in a big city) and my last bike was stolen in late summer :( In my search for a new bike I also search exhaustively Bike mounts.I've read all the reviews, ratings and tips on how and what to use, this is one of the most recommended bike chain locks for my scenario.I like the length because I can wrap the chain twice (through) the bar and the frame) The backlight is bright enough and the locking mechanism is top notch.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some difficulties

The thief couldn't pick the lock after trying for 15 minutes

I found a stranger crouching and trying to pick the lock with tools. They must have been trying for at least 15 minutes when I found them. I alerted the officer in attendance who was hanging around my work and he spoke to the would-be thief. The thief only managed to cut through the protective fabric. I couldn't find any noticeable damage to the chain or keyhole. I sealed the torn fabric with black tape and plan to continue using the lock.

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Something different

Great bike protection!

This is probably the most reliable bike chain in Europe rated 15. I use it on my folding bike and it's long enough to wrap around the frame and through both wheels to make a tight to form object. The chain weighs eight [8] pounds and is 170 cm [5 feet 8 inches] long. Bike thieves will most likely ignore my bike as the effort to break the chain is higher than possible elsewhere. The cables are easy to cut, this chain is not. And in Europe, Abus is a well-known name. They make quality securityโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Write bike thieves!

Two very nice and very expensive bikes were stolen from my garage last year. That's the downside of living in a big city. The first time the bike wasn't locked at all; The second time it was locked with a cheaper Abus lock. Surveillance cameras in the garage recorded the thief picking the cheaper lock in about 30 seconds. This lock has not yet been tested. But it has a lot of features that shouldn't stop anyone from cracking this thing. Unlike cheaper padlocks, there is no way to slide the tarp

Pros
  • Cool stuff
Cons
  • A few little things

Beast from Abus, the best in sport

For a long time I've been looking for suitable high-security chains and high-security locks that give me security when locking my e-bike. -Scramblers. The problem I kept encountering was finding the right chain length/thickness to get around my bike's frame, across the wide front wheel, and around the object. That in and of itself wasn't a problem with the Abus 8ks chain until I tried to find a decent (mostly uncrackable) high security lock to match the chain. After trying several strong locksโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Nothing

How do I justify my purchase?

This chain lock is the best compromise when it comes to security. I have an expensive e-bike and they seem to be a prime target for bike thieves. So there are 3 problem areas. First, cost. I wanted to get insurance but it turned out to be more expensive than the most expensive lock I could find. So the high price of this lock is easily justified, because when I get back to where I locked my bike, there is still a bike there. Insurance cannot do that. Second is the weight. It's heavy but fallsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
