Description of ๐Ÿ”’ ABUS Granit Extreme Plus 59 Chain Lock - Heavy-Duty Security Lock (12mm X 140cm)

Lock-chain combinations are an excellent choice when it comes to securing motorbikes and scooters. There are usually plenty of attachment options on the wheels and frame for securing them to a fixed object. A bike that is secured in this way cannot simply be picked up and carried away - which is a real security advantage. It may also be possible to use a combination of a brake disk lock and a chain. This combination is a so-called "2-in-1" solution.

Excellent fit and finish

This safety chain will exceed your expectations for fit and finish. This is a very good security chain and lock that I don't think can be picked or cut with standard bolt cutters. The protective cover significantly reduces the possibility of scratching the motorcycle.

Pros
  • Combination brake disc lock and chain can also be used.
Cons
  • Upgrades

Love this lock, just wish I had a longer version?

I decided to secure two of our e-bikes in concrete with a ground anchor, but this made the length too short for two bikes, so I had to order two of these locks for a significant amount of money. Do I want them to offer an option with the same keys? Yes, but you don't know how to do that? Overall I'm very happy with the locks and hope they slow anyone hoping to boost my bike enough to show up on Calvary.

Pros
  • A bike secured in this way cannot simply be picked up and carried away, which is a real safety advantage.
Cons
  • Lock

Buy a cheap alarm, too, and your bike won't go anywhere.

Thankfully not tested by anyone (yet) but I'm sure this thing will protect my bike. The chain is heavy and thick, and the component that actually blocks is HARD. Make sure you get this one and not a shorter one as I use every inch of this chain. I attach it to a deck leg (such a pretty thick tree) and have enough extra chain to put it on my tire rim. With a less thick bike carrier, you can slide this chain over the bike carrier, the rim and part of the frame. Finally, I paid a lot of money forโ€ฆ

Pros
  • This combination is a so-called 2-in-1 solution.
Cons
  • Socket required

Heavy Duty - Chain Locks

I bought this to protect my 2017 fz07. I also have a perimeter alarm that I use with this circuit. What can I say? It works out? If I was stealing motorcycles and saw a motorcycle with this chain, I wouldn't bother. The chain links are thick and huge. I understand that no chain is 100% thief proof, but removing it must be a headache. I assume you need a large and very powerful chain cutter to handle this. I'm often told that most criminals look for easy prey, while it can be done I don't thinkโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Bikes and frames typically have a variety of mounting options to secure them to a fixed object.
Cons
  • Not sure
