Can't say enough about the accelerator coils. I have them on both machines and have never had a problem. The truck starts and runs better than ever. You can actually see the difference from the original, unlike other replacement parts that don't use as many windings and are $20 more than the unbeatable cheap replacement price.

Accel Coil, installed, it works, my truck works, I've run it on my TBI 350 on my Tahoe for a while and I think it really helped there, with gas mileage, power and emissions. I did increase the spark plug gap a bit on the TBI, but didn't notice much of a difference with this Vortec coil (leaving the gap on the stock IIRC).

Seems to work well. After the first install, I noticed a hesitation under load that wasn't present with the standard coil. The vibrations have indeed decreased and it could be due to other ignition components, although these are mostly new. One possibility is that the ignition controller could be faulty. good for money

Replaced some unnecessary coils on my truck that the previous owner had installed. The truck drove better immediately. I checked the primary and secondary resistance of both coils, the old one had a low secondary resistance, so the coil must have partially shorted around a few turns, interfering with the full voltage output at the connectors. This reel appears to be well made and should last a long time.

Other reviews say it doesn't fit well on the cast iron mount on most 1990's Chevy and Tahoe trucks but if you get the old coil remove it completely, it will actually fit perfectly and is easier to repair if you remove it. I have to give it 5 stars while others give it 4, it took 30 minutes including the time it takes to drill out the rivets. My 1999 Tahoe starts faster and runs smoother just like they claim.

In my application I had to drill through the original bracket to install this. This is such a common bracket on GM products that you might think Accel would make their own complete bracket to simplify installation for those who don't have a Dremel or perhaps don't have the skills to modify the bracket. I didn't want to overdo it updating this part. I felt like a simple update to the old stock spool in my high mileage (130,000) truck would be an improvement. The maximum voltage specifications of this coil show an increase of 8 kΩ over the standard; and the peak energy increased by 11%. I felt that in a high mileage truck without additional options to increase cylinder pressure this coil would be better suited to light a standard engine.
