Excellent value for money Filter

This reactor is designed to allow free flow of pellets. This is a loop value. I only give it four stars because the tubes are metric. You can't just run to the hardware store and buy other pipes that will fit easily. If not for that. Simply a 5 star device.

Pros
  • Excellent price
Cons
  • I don't mind, everything is fine

Thing just works, it's a HF30, not the smallest of them. Do not downsize the pump. I use a Rio HF-6 pump and it can liquefy as much media as I put in it. The media fill port is awesome too. I sent back the awful Reef Octupus and bought it instead and couldn't be happier. But it takes up more space in the palette.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • old

Drum Machine!: Filter

The reactor was only used about 48 hours, but this is such an improvement over the Two Fish Block that it replaced it. These Accel Aquatics units are only $10 more expensive, but they work much better for biopellets. I was only able to tumble the pellet on the first impact on the reactor with the old device, but in this case they instantly tumbled 300% more than I've ever seen with the Two Fish device.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Frequent maintenance required

The idea was great but the execution was poor. The 375 GPH pump I used pushed the internal water jet out of position so it wouldn't disturb the media. Every few days I would open up the device and squeeze the entire inner tube tightly to keep the device working properly. I'm not sure if I just had a bad block. Finally back to Amazon. I travel a lot for work, if the biopellets stuck together, they would explode the whole tank.

Good with many options but not universal

I like the off factor and how you can connect a pump with different tubing sizes to the same port but not sure if it fits my bio -Granules. I use NP Active and they are supposed to move smoothly, which happens in some places but also like explosions in other places. A lot of bullets will now get stuck in the black cone (which is removable), but that's undesirable anyway. I think it should still do its job well otherwise, and how it can either hang from behind, walk right behind, or be hosed…

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • Not sure

The design is the best I've seen and tried for biopellets

The design is the best I've seen and tried for biopellets. The downward flow keeps the pellets in a slight tumble by controlling the water flow. It comes with a filter on top to prevent pellets from being thrown out with the stream but I found it unnecessary and removed it. Now I don't have to worry about this filter slowly clogging with fine dirt and needing to be washed. It has a small locking screw on the top that can be removed to add new pellets so you don't have to remove the entire top…

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

4 stars so far because I've just started using it, but of all the biobead reactors I've tried, this is by far the best best the most manageable and easy to use put reactor. It came with many options other reactors didn't have, from rigid PVC tubing to vinyl tubing, and the inlet port could be rotated for better setup of your tank. This reactor comes with a bracket that can be used as a HOB reactor. I have 1 1/2 cups of Maxijet 1200 inverted cobalt biopellets, the design of this reactor keeps…
