Worked fine for an hour. Then the needles somehow bent inward and didn't move up and down. It's terrible! Would never buy again. Even if I needed it for a two-minute job. Gears in back stock, missing bolts to attach back plate, bought 2 of these and both ended up on the other side of the hammer. GARBAGE! OTHER OTHER OTHER OTHER! Can I give negative 5 stars?

Pros
  • Sizing
Cons
  • boring packaging

Works very well down to 0.0001 inch

I needed a dial indicator that could read to within 0.0001 inches to make sure the spindle on my new lathe was not showing any noticeable totals. beat (TIR). This was a requirement in order to maintain the stated TIR warranty on the 8" cartridge and custom blank backplate I purchased for it. This indicator works very well and has convinced me that my lathe spindle's TIR is within the limits specified by the chuck manufacturer.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

I broke it in 10 seconds!

It has a small brass element pressed into the plastic back of the housing. Its diameter can be 13mm, and the gripping depth is only about 2mm. I put it on my mill bed and when I went to take it off I quickly pulled out this little brass insert. It was very little effort. I bought it to use and needed it as disappointing as it was. I sanded the surfaces and epoxyed a small brass insert on the back. I'm more careful with it, mainly because it's such a weak point and the magnet is pretty strong…

Pros
  • Indicators and accessories
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
