The AC Delco Panel Mode drive works great. Buy it.

This Delco AC drive works exactly as expected. Installation is difficult, but not the part's fault. The space on my 2002 Silverado 2500HD is under the dash on the driver's side, and for a taller guy (6ft, 205lbs) the access is pretty damn great. I made the mistake of "checking if it works before installing it. Don't do that. It will go out of its scope and block, at which point you'll have to open it up and bring it back into its bounds.

Don't waste time on fake brands, buy this one instead!

This part has served its purpose. I previously ordered a "fake" from a local car dealership down the road. I spent a lot of time installing it only to find that it didn't have enough force to move the shocks. Picked it up and bought a genuine AC Delco part and it worked great! Don't waste your time with other brands. I was waiting to return the first defective one from the auto shop to see how it compared to this original Delco AC and it turned out the fake had slots and grooves that were…

The 1st lasted 5 months, the 2nd lasted 3 months.

I installed my first replacement drive about 8 months ago after writing this review. It worked flawlessly for the first 5 months. Then it stopped working and got stuck on defrost. I replaced the air control unit with an extra one I had, still nothing. It's not a fuse, I've checked everything, the recirculation damper is working. I took it out, compared it to the old original and noticed that they are in the same position, both failed the same way. I have since ordered a new one and have been…

Fixed air duct hanging in defrost mode.

This solved an issue I had with a 2002 Silverado where the mode would freeze on thaw. The part is easy to remove but difficult to install. If you remove the cam and ride, 2 levers will fall out that insert into the cam. These levers control the upper and lower air ducts. There was a link to You Tube in another review. In this video it said to leave the cam in place and pull the actuator. It wouldn't work for me as I couldn't separate the cam from the actuator on the new part. What worked for me

Door Panel Actuator

This part will fit a 2002 GMC Sierra. If your heater or air conditioner doesn't switch from floor to dash to defrost. Try replacing this part first. It's a chore to change, but you don't have to disassemble the entire panel for that. If you know how to change the oil, you can take on this project. Note: 5.5mm screws must be removed. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Updated, stopped working two weeks after installation. I don't think that was the part, I think I have an…

This is NOT an easy task and not easy to achieve. It takes patience.

Need a long screwdriver as a hand to move the gear to fit the new controller. It was very easy to remove the old one, but then the gear and valve in the box moved. When installing the new controller, you will need a long screwdriver to hold up the white gear while inserting the notch into the gear's groove. I did 4 tries and the first 3 were close BUT it's impossible to force. Last time I used a long screwdriver to turn the white gear to where it needs to be to allow the new controller to fit…

learned a lesson the hard way

Bought for my 2001 Chevy Tahoe. I tried the Dorman part first, but being the typical person who doesn't need instructions, I failed at this by connecting the power to the unit before it was installed in the mount. DO NOT DO THAT! This ACDelco part was an EXACT replacement for my truck and worked great. A little tricky to install, especially for taller men like me due to the location under the dash on the driver's side, but totally worth the savings in the $$$ it would cost to have a mechanic do

Good product! Seems intimidating but it's an easy fix

I had to replace all 3 actuators in my 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 because I was tired of the HVAC system making its own decisions. To my knowledge some Chevys from that era have more than 3 drives and trying to figure out how many you have is pretty easy given the number of controls you have. I could be wrong but that was explained to me but I digress. This is a quality replacement part and worth every penny. This is the process that worked for me. This was the second drive and the easiest…
