Just buy the best OEM parts

The OEM Toyota shoes I used before lasted 100,000 miles. I've driven them 40,000 miles and they're almost the skinniest. Replacing brake pads is a hassle, so just spend a little more to get the most durable ones.

Pros
  • replacement parts
Cons

Don't make a costly mistake. Do not buy.

Brake pads squeak almost as soon as they are installed when braking. They are already showing signs of premature wear and should be replaced shortly after wearing. Avoid if you're buying for your '09 Toyota Yaris.

Cons
  • Largely ok, but...

ACDelco makes it again

They were a lot cheaper than the competition and work just as well. I needed new rear brakes for my daily commute, but I didn't want to brake on my shoes. At around $30 this is a great buy and they appear to be well built. I've only driven it about 600 miles so far, but I'm hoping for another 50,000.

Pros
  • Brake system
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model
