Finally an MC that works on my 79 f150 4x4.

Finally an MC that worked on my 79 f150 4x4. After 2 rebuilt MC's from a large parts store failed, this MC AC finally gave me smooth sonic braking, no sticking or slow sinking of the brake pedal to the floor. Follow the instructions for bleeding the MC and brake line.

The pedal is now nice and stiff

The pedal is nice and stiff now, fits right onto the brake booster and I didn't have to adjust the stem that protrudes from the brake booster. The drain plugs worked fine, but there were too many of them. I think I'll go for 16 forks total. 4 for the front, 4 for the back and 8 more did not fit.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Bad seat cones, leaking constantly

I should have looked closely when unpacking, but instead of the brass seats for the brake lines on display they connect to, this master cylinder has cones that appear to be cast and looked rather crude out. The rear line (for the front brakes) is sealed, but there was nothing I could do (loosen, then tighten - over and over again) to get the front attachment to seal. I reinstalled the old master cylinder, everything was sealed normally.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Good quality Delco AC master cylinder Great price

I bought this master cylinder for just over 16.00 because the packaging was damaged when I received it, there was only a small tear in the box, otherwise that was it Product flawless! I always go to AC Delco for parts, this was for my 1978 Ford F100 Custom. The match was perfect, as was the fit. With the help of my wife we were able to bleed the main brake cylinder directly in the truck. I was facing brake fade and this article helped! Where else can you get a quality master cylinder for $16โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Non-automatic

very easy. Of course I didn't read the instructions.

1986 E150 Van has over 300,000 miles and the mechanic is gone. Installs in 20 minutes per minute, very easy. Of course, I didn't read the instructions, but this time it helped. It's also worth mentioning that I've been involved with cars since the 70's; grumpy old geezer could be me :) Anyway, disconnect the wires, unscrew the master, if you have a shift knob there are four nuts and unplug the master. Do not remove the tank cap. Install a new master, do not connect the lines yet. Pour liquidโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some issues
