How to do it: Parts

Installed on a 2007 GMC 6.0 4wd. Lower the front differential about 1/2 inch by loosening, but not removing, the 2 bolts securing the driver's side differential. Aluminum cooling tube assembly slides forward. Replace coolant lines and tighten differential.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs

Factory part, perfect fit.

Great fit, factory part. To do this, the front axle had to be lowered. I'm not sure if there is an easier way. A minor issue, but it was worth running oil lines to have a working oil cooler. Supplied with bolts for the block mounted line and a gasket. Does not come with a bracket screw that secures the lines to the block near the front.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Available in white only

I worked with mods for rad. Fittings from 1999 6.0L

This worked on my '99 GMC Sierra 2500hd with a 6.0L Vortex but I had to modify the fittings that connect to the radiator by adding drilled exactly .100" deeper so the new lines should sit deep enough to attach the retaining clips behind the barb lines. The ends of the lines are exactly .100" longer than my standard lines from the back of the barb to the tip. Remove the differential, remove the radiator shroud and intake plenum, and installation is pretty easy. No more leaking lines!

Pros
  • GOLS Certified
Cons
  • Crumpled Pack

It hurts a bit, but that's how the store pays

Bought a 'used' item which was actually brand new, just repackaged and shipped in a plastic bag. A lot of people seem to buy this part hoping it's an easy replacement, but then return it once they figure out what the PITA is. It was the perfect replacement for my '07 Sierra 1500 6.2L 4WD. I had to lower the front differential to access the bracket on top of the oil pan. There are two 10mm bolts and one 13mm bolt near the motor mount that are difficult to reach. No cutting required, just be…

Replacement for GMT800

From measurements this appears to be an improved part for an earlier design than was leaked. This late design routes the lines under the unit's mounting surface to the same bolt, allowing less flexibility at the hose connections. Will be installed later this week. It's significantly cheaper (Ravain) than the old design, so stop over-hyping the prices. Update: Easier to install so less metal lines (twist, push and pull between motor and frame mount). On a GM800 Trucks 2/4wd with a clutch fan…

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Volume

Installed on a new 2009 Silverado 4.8L 4x4. Mark the drive shaft in the same way to replace it and remove the bolts holding the shaft. Remove the oil filter and the two screws holding the cover that your new oil lines attach to. Use tape to cover the ends of the new lines to prevent dirt from getting into the line tubes when you slide the lines from back to front along the engine oil pan and under the engine mounts. If they work together and take their time, they will fit. There is a bracket…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Hard to say
