ACDelco 252 825 Professional Water Pump Review

I think this block was of better quality than what I took out of the car. I'm 5 months and 4k miles and it's been great. It's made in China but the molding seems better than the cheaper Chinese units. I would go with this again over others.

Water pump replaced 3 times before I found this one. They all started squeaking after a few months, and higher engine RPMs killed them faster. Not so with AC delco. Increase the engine speed at will, so that nothing squeaks. Pumps water on demand and just works. Impressed with the quality. Great pump

I liked the quality of the water pump but need to see how long it lasts. The original Delco AC pump was still fine but I replaced it as the damper on the crankshaft failed and I disassembled it anyway. The only downside was that they didn't include an O-ring that connects the pump housing to the engine block. It was hard to find but eventually found and ordered locally. This delayed all the work waiting for that o-ring.

This is an OE quality water pump at half the price at your local parts store. Why I gave it one star is that the thermostat/pump housing has to be removed to take the pump out. Simply unscrew the 4 screws that hold the pump/thermostat housing in place. If you're not careful, you can crack the case and ruin your work. The pump will not get past the timing cover and many attempts will not help. It's fine, but you need an o-ring at the junction of the case and the block. I had to order a Felpro…
