It didn't fit my 2007 Honda CRV, unlike .

This does not fit my 2007 Honda CRV, contrary to what Revain who is responsible for product testing claims it does. Honda tried to install and the external solenoid won't let it fit in the space provided.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • old

Other (for now only) reviews of this product are below.

Another (for now) review of this item has been rejected because it is not eligible for CRV, which it may be. However, I used another website to make sure this PN fits my vehicle and gave it a try. Fits my 2007 Element with no problems. I even installed it from the bottom so I didn't have to deal with the intake manifold split. Engine starts faster/stronger than ever!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Useless features

One year later: Starter and parts

Installed on 2007-07-24 on a 2007 Honda Element LX FWD/MT. It still works. Not bad for $170. Sounds a bit rough compared to the OEM version, but then again, this one is dead and this one works fine for now. I don't think it will last 13 years like the original but if it lasts 5 I'm fine with that as I'll probably try to get rid of the car. Not a bad buy.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Guard

Should not be used on a 2007 Honda Element AWD.

I had no problems with the quality of this starter, it seems very well finished. The problem I had was that it was supposed to be a starter replacement for my 2007 Honda Element AWD. In my opinion it would be dangerous to use it on this machine. The electrical connectors are incorrectly connected and the connector is dangerously close to the mounting screw, which can cause a short circuit.

Pros
  • There are few competitors
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Fantastic improvement!

Installed on my 07 Civic Si and although the new external solenoid design was a little tricky to install it was well worth the time and effort! This starter seems to spin the engine with great and slightly noticeable ease compared to the original internal magnetic starter. I would highly recommend this starter as a replacement and it would easily get 5 stars from me, but it was a bit more difficult to install over the OEM starter.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Updates available

Fits good. It is not difficult to install compared to OEM.

Fits well in 2007 Civic Si. The starter is louder than normal. The noise is similar to the rotation of a piece of dry metal or an old car. A starter terminal is next to the longer screw, but I don't think that's a big problem. On this terminal + only when scrolling. Anyone who has changed the starter on an old Chevy knows how close to the ground the + wire is. I had to cut the knock sensor tie wrap to avoid stressing the wires. Be careful with KS, it breaks easily. I like the sound of the…

  • good stuff

  • minor flaws
