Five Stars for Parts

This is the only tensioner that has ever been fitted to my car. almost a year and nothing still does not creak 2 years later. Stay away from the Autozone version. It will help

Great quality and craftsmanship went into the making of this one.

My original belt tensioner was driving me crazy with noise. After replacing it with AC Delco 38114, the problem was solved once and for all. Excellent quality and craftsmanship went into the making of this product.

Pros
  • Engines and engine parts
Cons
  • Good but not great

Muted belt chirp but could be better

I bought this part for my 2001 Ford Taurus wagon with OHV (Vulcan) engine. I chose it because some reviewers said it lasted longer than other brands they've tried. I previously replaced the idler pulley but that didn't fix the chirping. Inspection showed me that the original tensioner (101,000 miles) no longer pulled the belt past the minimum tension mark. After installing this replacement, the chirping disappeared. And the voltage mark is now close to the maximum. I've only driven 50 or 60โ€ฆ
