Description of ๐Ÿš— Gas-Charged Front Shock Absorber - ACDelco Advantage 520-238

super-finished chromed piston rod inhibits corrosion and provides a more consistent wear surface. piston seal adjusts as it wears to maintain a tight seal between the piston and pressure tube. this minimizes leak paths for a longer, more consistent, product life. o-ring provides constant pressure to the inner tube and makes the valve less susceptible to dirt, wear, and fatigue leading to longer service life. drawn over mandrel (dom) pressure cylinder for a smoother surface and less resistance, resulting in increased service life. Fit type: Vehicle Specific.

Good deal for the price. Would buy again.

Installation went smoothly on the first impact, the second impact was more severe as the engine would not start. The thread was not defined well enough to engage the nut and kept trying to cross the thread. It took a few taps with a smaller wrench to get started. I was afraid it would break. It worked well. All in all a good deal.

Pros
  • Installation Type: Vehicle Specific
Cons
  • Protection

Great replacement shock absorbers

These shock absorbers are perfect for my 1990 S10. The truck sits a little higher and drives very well. I was struck by these little shocks. Requires a decent amount of force to compress and install. A bottle jack had to be used for the installation. It surprised me for such a small shock. I will definitely buy the same brand. In my experience, ACDelco is way better than Gabriel or Monroe. Update 03/10/21: The dampers hold up very well. No questions. The trick works very well after hacking.

Pros
  • O-ring keeps constant pressure on the inner tube making the valve less susceptible to dirt, wear and fatigue resulting in longer life
Cons

The best ratio of price and quality. Decent product

I really like the price of these shocks compared to others on the market a little smooths out the ride. They were a little softer than the Monroes I took off. I noticed that not only were they lighter, but the rubber spacers and washers were smaller than the removed Monroes. . But for the price they were lucky for me that I bought (like new stains on the box and the product arrived new still in the original packaging.

Pros
  • Super machined chrome piston rod resists corrosion and provides a more even wear surface
Cons
  • Available in black only

I doubt this is AC delco *update*

I doubt this is really an AC Delco brand. Both shocks clearly had the decal removed and a cheap AC Delco decal added. For that reason I need a very convincing story, I'll try to call AC delco on this, but I'll use shock absorbers anyway. AC delco quality level. I reused the rubber bushings and washers from the factory shocks as they were wider and better finished. If you want dampers that are as good as factory, you should buy AC delco Proffesional.

Pros
  • . The piston seal is adjusted when worn to ensure a tight seal between the piston and the pressure tube. this minimizes leakage paths for longer and more consistent product life.
Cons
  • Working Speed
