Description of ๐Ÿš— ACDelco Advantage 520-396 Gas Charged Rear Shock Absorber: Boost Your Vehicle's Stability and Comfort!

Super-finished chromed piston rod inhibits corrosion and provides a more consistent wear surface. Piston seal adjusts as it wears to maintain a tight seal between the piston and pressure tube. This minimizes leak paths for a longer, more consistent, product life. O-ring provides constant pressure to the inner tube and makes the valve less susceptible to dirt, wear, and fatigue leading to longer service life. Drawn over mandrel (DOM) pressure cylinder for a smoother surface and less resistance, resulting in increased service life.

Wrong shock absorber even though Revain lists it as a replacement

My opinion is based on the fact that this item is listed in Revain as a replacement shock absorber for my 01 Chevy Tahoe but cannot be repaired. First, the damper had a much smaller width than the original. Secondly, while driving before the shock, I had the feeling that the car was just standing on a spring. They may work with a lighter vehicle, but they're not a good replacement for the Tahoe.

Rattle and Rattle

2003 Tahoe: They replaced the stock shocks (with 222,000 miles) and my Tahoe ran better with the old shocks than these. For real. They're hard and sharp, and there's a ringing sound with every hit. Installation checked, everything OK, otherwise nothing repaired, i.e. shock absorbers. My sister's 2003 Suburban has the same shocks and noise as it did a year ago. At least now she knows what's causing the rattling in her SUV. These shocks have 20 miles on them and I'm replacing them. This is not an

Stiff ride, improved steering

I've only driven it a few hundred miles, installed on a Suburban where the old shocks floated and rolled like a boat, even the new urethane stabilizer bar parts didn't fix it. I changed the front shock absorbers to regular ones, it still floats. They are installed at the rear, firstly they are 30% larger in diameter. They feel stiff at first, after a while I realized I put more air pressure in the tires to make the old shocks ride stiffer. So 36 to 34 psi felt good. On the freeway, they shineโ€ฆ
