Best Genuine GM Parts

These glow plugs are fine, took about 3 hours for a skilled handyman to install. It is best to watch videos on YouTube, especially the steering shaft joint removal video as a glow plug cannot be removed without it. I also removed the CAC pipes for easier access. As it is steel in a block of aluminum, lubricate the final tip liberally and several times with penetrating oil a few days beforehand to reduce corrosion, then remove when the engine is hot. My local GM dealer had an $800 job that I did

Exact replacement for GM #97226202

Revain insisted that I provide information on my Chev. Silverado and then told me that this glow plug does NOT fit him. Having had several faulty glow plugs I knew that glow plug 97226202 would fit my 2001 LB7 diesel engine and found the 62G plug to be a newer version of it. I ordered two of these and upon receipt found them identical, right down to the markings on the glow plug body! This is an exact factory replacement part for the LB7 6.6 liter diesel engine. The packaging, shipping and…

Pros
  • Full range of offsets - from 21mm to 40mm - to meet camera needs in a variety of applications
Cons
  • Something different

Part of the GM factory! fits glow plugs

This is a factory part that was used in 2001-2004. I installed a full set of these in my 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD and had no problems. I recommend applying a small amount of anti-seize to the threads and directly to the chamfer where the body meets the tip and USE THE TORQUE. wrench to install them. You don't want to break any of them by guessing the torque. GM tightening torque is 18 Nm (13 ft-lbs) for head plugs and you want to get it right. GM also lists wire nuts for 18-inch pounds, but I…

Pros
  • GN style control coil
