🔧 ACDelco GM Original Equipment PCV Valve Kit 89017274 with Bracket, Seals, and Spring Review

Perfect for my application as original equipment should be. It comes with everything needed to repair/replace the PCV valve and cap.

It contains everything you need to replace a 3800 series supercharged engine. This should be done frequently, not only to save fuel but also to ensure that the oil pressure is not too high.

I changed it along with the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor and my 2002 Chevy Impala started and drove fine. I didn't want to invest too much money in a sixteen year old car, but for such an old car it's in very good condition. It was an easy fix and I saved hundreds by doing it myself.

The PCV valve I received with this kit was defective. Caused by excessive vacuum in the engine. Removing the oil cap with the engine running sucked like a shop vacuum. Made many mistakes and replaced the PCV valve with one from Dorman. This solved the problem. A clogged PCV valve or missing PCV O-ring on 3.8 GM engines causing excessive vacuum is not uncommon, but Delco's poor AC valve caught me by surprise. This seems to be more common with MFG. Outsourcing to China, also by AC. Delco.

Nothing to say. This is an OEM part and is well suited for the application. It uses updated O-rings that provide a better seal. Be sure to lubricate the o-rings with engine oil or a compatible synthetic lubricant to prevent them from rolling (which can cause them to seal poorly and even break).
