2002 Chevy Silverado 4.8

Arrived quickly with free postage. Perfect for Silverado 4.8 2002. OEM. There was a sticker that said Made in Mexico. Provided it fits and fits the old one. I also purchased a Lisle 13250 pressure switch socket. You will also need to order a socket. A special nozzle and a rocking chair with a slight stretch are used. I always had a leak and it got really bad until the low oil message came. I think it also caused a bad ground on the ground wire near that sensor and blew the fuse on my engine…

Do it yourself! OEM, but will it fit?

My Chevy 02' with 5.3 Vortec started to lose oil. My old oil feed worked fine but they have a reputation for leaking oil. The dealer wanted over $300 for a new install. I read the Revain reviews, watched the videos and decided to do it myself. I found this on Revain but the 'Fits' tab said it wasn't right for my car. I gritted my teeth and paid $100 for one at a GM dealership. I also bought a sensor socket from Auto Zone which requires a 1/2" drive. Removing the old sensor was very quick and…

A bad oil pressure sensor can be the cause of a major oil leak

This was the correct part for my 2000 GMC Sierra 5.3L. My truck had a significant oil leak and at first it appeared to be coming from the bell, leading me to think of a rear oil seal problem. Fortunately, YouTube came to the rescue. Oil leaked from the oil pressure sensor and entered the bell housing and the front of the gearbox before it was visible from below. Another clue was that at highway speeds, the pressure suddenly dropped about 20 psi from the previous reading. As others have said…

Pros
  • Offers GM quality, reliability and durability OE
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Worked great on my Silverado 1500 2000 5.3L V8. My oil sensor accidentally cracked - now it works like new. If you have small hands or know someone who could help you, you can do this without removing anything other than the plastic cover on top of the motor. There is no need to remove the fuel lines and/or the intake as some say. There are a few videos on YouTube on how to do this with the right length extensions and a swivel head. Be sure to buy a special socket to take it outside - there…
