No worse than OEM.

My original gave a nice clear click so you could do three clicks and make sure the cap was on properly. This cap doesn't bounce very well so it doesn't give good clicks so not entirely sure how well the cap fits!

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • The cable is shorter than the others

It makes the job safe.

Depending on the vehicle used, installation is easy. Use pliers to remove the old one by grasping it as close as possible to the hole it is inserted in, then twisting and pulling. Then simply insert a new one. Now my old one broke on the way out so I had to fiddle around a bit more to get it out. I then cleared the codes and the engine would not start.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Functionality

Need a wrench when refueling.

1st. Step into problem code P0442 on the woman's Sonic. EZ exchange BUT closing before 'first click' is a problem. I've been a 6'4" jet mechanic for 42 years and had to choose not to close as instructed because my wife would never be able to open (let alone close properly). As it turned out, that was Evaporator/purge valve the culprit.

Pros
  • GM quality, reliability and durability
Cons
  • reliability

Not the best option, but it works.

Fits my car (I checked it first and was told it fit my make and model). fits very well, does not "click" when rotated as directed on the lid. BUT. It works, fits and was rescued the day after I stole it. It's so tight it's hard to steal!

Pros
  • Prevents wasted fuel to reduce trips to the gas station
Cons
  • Transparency

I also find the OEM much better than the old one

Bought after it had a total gap that would not snap into the door. I'm in New Jersey where you can't fill up your own gas, so the maintenance staff throws out the old one. Now that the cap snaps onto the door, I no longer have to worry about a broken gas cap. I also think the OEM is much better than the old one.

Pros
  • Provides a tight seal to keep your car's fuel tank closed
Cons
  • Has defects

GM Gas Cap Replacement

So if your problem is indeed related to the gas cap, this will solve your problem. Made on my wife's 2012 Chevy Sonic, it fits perfectly. Unfortunately, if you have a vacuum leak somewhere else, it won't fix it. So if you googled the check engine light and it said it MAY be the gas cap and that didn't fix the problem, you have an evaporator leak somewhere else, I'm sorry you wasted your money.

Pros
  • GM recommended replacement part for your original factory component GM
