I bought these because I was converting my car from 6v to 12v. This coil has no internal resistance, so you need a ballast resistor. I knew this before I bought it and it works as it should along with the external resistor.

Bought to replace an old coil in a 66 GTO. Came in perfect condition. Installed and working flawlessly so far. Let's see how long it lasts. You may need to adjust the bend diameter on the factory coil mount as these coils are slightly larger in diameter than stock.

The coil came in a traditional AC Delco box with the Detroit Michigan logo on it. I took out the spool and it is made in China. Seems to work fine but am disappointed that I paid more for the AC part when I could have bought a much cheaper non-AC coil that was also made in China - probably from the same factory. Disappointing.

I had a hard starting problem with a hot Chevy big block engine. I found the problem with the MSD Blaster 2 coil. As soon as I switched to the Delco AC coil I immediately noticed better idle, smoother throttle response and improved handling, not to mention no more hot issues. I highly recommend this role.

I thoroughly inspected this part upon arrival and found it to be identical to the one already on my 1962 Corvette. Easy to install, right color and height to fit under the ignition cover (unlike some other replacement parts). I used a multimeter and checked the primary and secondary resistance. They are all correctly verified by my controlled ignition points. This is the right professional AC Delco part at a good price.

"Made in China" is clearly marked on the bottom of the box and "ac delco" elsewhere. There is nothing on the reel itself that sets it apart from the much cheaper local general purpose reel. For all the bloggers and reviewers who are against "cheap offshore parts" this is one of them. Not worth the money as far as I can tell. I would add photos I took, but Revain's all-or-nothing privacy policy doesn't align with my values, so no uploads are allowed :(

I don't know how to tell a good reel from one that just "does the job" without cutting it - and I don't cut a new reel , just to look at her . So I'm relying on two things when I give this reel a 5 star rating. First, I bought a genuine ACDelco coil for the same price my local parts store charges for a no-name coil, and ACDelco has a good reputation.
