Acme Furniture 97378 Ceara Cabinet Review

I knew it wouldn't be the best quality but I was expecting more than it is. The screw tensioners broke when trying to fix the screws. Door screws do not properly hook into wood; They simply rotate, and by adjusting the door to close properly, they slide out. Also, the smell coming out of this closet is awful and nauseating; it made the entire 1st floor of my house smell so bad.

This cabinet was exactly what we wanted and the perfect shade for our interior. The door is designed to pivot to the right, but we wanted it to open to the left. There are no pre-drilled holes for this. However, this is possible if you turn the door over and take accurate measurements. I drilled my own holes (4 for the magnet and latch and 6 for the two hinges). It worked great. Just use a small drill and don't drill too deep, 1/8 inch.

Arrived very well packaged in a damaged box. That's why I was surprised at how many "stains" there were. There were many steps to assemble it but it wasn't that hard with a drill press. You get what you pay for, but luckily it's durable enough for its intended purpose. *Edit Noticed everything is wrong. Have disassembled and reassembled but the doors still won't close or close fully. Rebuilt 3 times and it's rickety but then again you get what you pay for.

Tldr: good value for money, no wobbles despite not very good hardware. Good, good: After assembly, it stands firmly, does not wobble and looks good. Bad: Holy cow, that was hard to build. It wasn't particularly difficult, but each piece of equipment was mislabeled in the instructions. Actually, I had to guess what went where. The cam locks are not good and I assume I will have to replace them. It won't move at all, so I think it'll be fine for a while.

We were excited to place this item in our bathroom. Perfect color and size for us. But there was a lack of packaging, mainly from China. Our original order arrived badly damaged after weeks of waiting. The second arrived a week after we returned. Excited to start building, I carefully removed the contents from the packaging and found 3 damaged spots, 2 of which were on exposed surfaces. Although I think I can fix this, it will be quite difficult to match the color on an open surface.

This cabinet looks great and is great for what we use it for which is storing all of our different pet supplies. I felt it was a little pricey for the quality - there were a few chips in the plywood but nothing terrible enough to justify a return. Very durable and I love the turquoise color. Keep in mind that it took quite a bit of effort, almost 2 hours! For the price this is a great item. Actually I bought two to cover the fireplace. I ended up installing a hanging door on the opposite side, which it didn't drill for, but it was simple enough. The door on the other one (which I haven't remodeled) doesn't hang straight no matter how much I adjust it, but I'm the only one to notice and it doesn't prevent the door from opening or closing normally.
