It's really noisy. poorly done and only expensive in the damage it did to me. It "worked" (really weird to say), but it's very poorly built in my opinion. It is very easy for a micro card to insert the card at an angle, and it was difficult to insert it correctly. It felt like it was scratching. I got it working but not all files uploaded because I think I scratched it when figuring out how to place it. It only accepts the card at the top, not the whole card like other readers. I had someone…

Need a portable card reader? Big! Check out some others now.

It works, but I'm concerned that the first USB 2.0 port I plugged it into hasn't worked since the first time I tried it. So this was the port I use all the time to connect USB 2.0 drives or when I need to plug in a device and extract some information from it. When I first plugged this device into the same port, the power light on the device turned on and then went off. I couldn't get Windows to read the XD card inside. I got fed up with some other flash drives and they stopped showing up when…

Maybe this is the worst technology I've ever bought?

Bought to read a Sony Memory Stick that was lying around thinking it might contain important photos. As soon as I got this adapter, I inserted the memory card and no drives showed up in Windows Explorer. As far as I understand, the drivers were not installed either. So I plug it into another USB port with the same result. I went back to this Revain page to see if others had the same issue and someone mentioned that it doesn't support USB 3.0, so I thought "Oh, maybe they mean it's out with USB…

Pros
  • Memory Card Reader
Cons
  • Faulty

Not totally useless but close enough

I bought one of these card readers used - like new - from Revain's warehouse. It would not turn on (no LED light when connected to a computer, no activity with memory card inserted). It turned out to be only marginally more useless than the new one I ordered as a replacement. The "new" card reader had a power light when connected to a computer. With A LOT of persuasion, unplugging/replugging/inserting/removing/re-inserting, I was able to get it to read a standard SD memory card SOMETIMES…
