Worked with cards that others didn't work with

Worked very well, even with cards that other modules didn't work with. I have a small problem with the card sticking, but in general everything works fine.

Pros
  • Provided a nice feel

Works well with FAT32 formatted memory cards up to 32GB

Use mine with an Arduino based weather monitoring system. Getting started using the Adafruit library and sample .ino files is easy. The board includes a level switch that makes it 5V compatible for all pins. Other cheaper boards are often NOT 5V compatible.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • I'm pissed

Not the cheapest but good quality and extra features!

Slightly more expensive than other microSD card readers, but note that it includes a 3.3V regulator and a logic level switch so you can easily connect it directly to the Arduino. Works great with the SD library, even the address in the library worked for me.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Reliability

Good product! Worked first time with no rework

Great product! The first time it worked without any problems. Before purchasing, I spent $4 on a cheap overseas version. SD chips are very picky about voltage fluctuations and cable lengths. Adafruit took this into account and made it practically reliable. =

Pros
  • Don't waste your time
Cons

Beginner-friendly, easy to set up with Uno board

While there are cheaper MicroSD readers out there, the Adafruit model offers excellent support. Based on general Arduino ignorance, it didn't take long before my Uno could read and write data to/from microSD cards. Less than an hour. Add another hour to figure out how to sync it with the Mega 2560. I ran it twice continuously for three days, recording environmental data, opening and closing files about twice a second (the code wasn't optimized very well). at the time) and he hasn't had theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Empty

Excellent microSD adapter

Good mechanics on the microSD slot. This is a weak point for these modules, and Adafruit has done a good job of matching the components. It's a push-and-pull connector that works fine with a variety of cards (I've had cards that were removable from other adapters, but they worked fine after many insertion/removal cycles across multiple projects). Support for the Arduino library simplifies integration. The usual Adafruit documentation and examples are big pluses for this adapter, along with itsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Negative imprint
