Despite the description of the metal case, this is a lightweight balance with a plastic case for $60. The lever is misaligned and loose front to back and frequently touches the sides of the holding end, causing failure. If you're careful, check it every time it seems REALLY right. I used it because I needed it that day, but I could upgrade to a better model or wait until it was priced accordingly.

This scale is very accurate although the quality is average. It does a great job of weighing in grams. The scale is suitable for a school or an individual, but does not reach the quality of a professional laboratory level. I had questions about the scale and contacted the company but never received a response. Later I found the same scale under a different brand. The price is a bit high but since it works for me I'm happy with it.

I don't really care about scale accuracy, but this one meets all my expectations. It's accurate to within 0.1 grams and is great for measuring the exact amount of sugar or whatever when tracking your calorie intake. Unlike digital scales where the springs can resist until that resistance is overcome, with this three bar scale you can simply watch as it oscillates up and down until it stops. It's worth every penny.
