Good Quality: Computer Accessories & Peripherals

I needed something to connect my hard drive to USB. It worked great, all I had to do was add a power supply (I used the power supply from an old laptop) and it was done.

Works great, positive 12v center connector allows for larger drives

Bought to use with some of my lying around external SATA drives. a quick way to transfer some data to a spare drive. As long as you have a suitable positive tip adapter and 12V will do, you should be good for larger drives.

Working file with a reservation

I'm sure this is a good product for the average user. The problem I had was that I couldn't run the linux smartctl command on it. I returned it and bought another adapter of the same model as mine which allows the smartctl command to get all the SMART information from the disk. Apart from that it works fine. The only other complaint I have is that the activity light is very dim and hidden in a dark piece of plastic. It would be better if the light was more visible. It consumes an external 12V…

fits my 3.5 inch hard drive perfectly. (requires external power supply (120V, 12V DC input) for 3.5 hard drives). If you are ordering just one plug please ensure you have an adapter with the correct plug. However, for 2.5 hard drives, you can use without an adapter. Good quality product and very affordable price. Even with my USB 2.0 connection I get good transfer speeds with it. Arrived the next day (with Prime).
