Bought this chair for my wife's desk. She really likes it, but my only complaint is that the gas piston, held by the base, wobbles too much for my liking. But for the price it couldn't be better.

chair is comfortable for the price. However, once installed, the gas piston will not go up or down. The lever does not reach the top of the piston to allow it to move up or down. I manually pushed the plunger button to raise the seat. The moment I sat on it, it sank to the ground and then rose again.

If you sat down on this bar stool and then stood up again, it would come back to the top. And since I wasn't tall enough to climb onto the stool, I couldn't get back in. This was very annoying and as it is very difficult to return a larger item the manufacturer penalized the buyer. So the money was wasted.

Great chair (exactly as pictured) but came with design (or manufacturer fault) that the hydraulic lift system didn't made to work with seat. The lever does not reach the hydraulic activation button. I hope to change my rating once I receive a replacement. This is exactly the chair I wanted. It is not very pleasant that you have to go through the process of returning such a large item.

Good product. Very convenient. I'm glad I read the reviews warning about removing the black plug on the base. There is only a very small label on the lid with a picture to show it will be removed, but it is so small and poorly drawn that it will most likely skip this step. It must be removed for the height adjustment to work. I don't know why it's not in the main manual either.

I was about to write a bad review as the stool did not go up and down as other reviews have pointed out. However, after pausing for a moment and looking at the impact part that goes up and down and ACTUALLY looking at the instructions (the chair was easy enough to assemble, you don't need instructions) I found that there was a black cap on the lid.
