No matter how tight we put this harness on our chubby cat, it can simply roll off. So I would say it's not effective for us at all. Every time we put it on her, she comes out within 30 seconds. So I think they need to rethink the "escape protection" part of the product name.

The best harness for cats. I have a six month old Bengal who looks like Houdini. I've tried many cat harnesses on him and he can get out of them if I'm tethered while driving. He walks on a leash, and so far everything is fine in this harness and on the road. Excellent quality and lifetime guarantee on this harness. He's five pounds and wears medium sized clothes with velcro that overlap a bit, but I think he'll grow.

My smart kitty makes herself pretty EASY with this otherwise lovely harness. This is a reliable escape deterrent when the leash is behind or next to the cat's body and harness. However, a smart cat like mine quickly found that by turning to face me while I was holding the leash, she slipped over her head and forearms quite easily. This harness is ONLY for naive cats! I'm sending it back and giving it 1 star because I have to pay for the return shipping of the FALSE WERBUNG product!

While this harness is good in terms of security, I think the largest size is too small for my 20lb rescuer. When he's on top of her, he's stuck and her breathing becomes shallow for her. She is of a healthy weight. She's very fluffy, but when her fur is smoothed, her body shrinks, allowing a larger cat to appear somewhere in her genome. If only there was one size bigger. I paid for a new one of these harnesses and when I got it it smelled like a Febreeze garbage bag. I'm not joking. What happened was they put the used dishes in a bag and mailed it to me after someone returned it. The smell from the dishes was overwhelming for my cat and wouldn't go away for at least a month.
