For my use the charger worked very well. I've used it to charge both a 12v deep cycle trolling motor battery and a 12v starter battery on my car kit boat. After connecting the charger's battery cables and connecting to the AC power supply, the charger would display the battery's charging status, charging voltage and charging current. The device never overheated and charged the batteries quickly. If you need a small, compact battery charger, this is great.

It even "shocked" a 12-year-old 12V Makita (Li Ion.) battery from 9V to 11.5V, enough for the original charger to recognize and charge it. When I connected it to an undercharged battery with auto-charge enabled, after about 1.5 hours my battery showed up to about 64% of its capacity. When I switched it to manual loading, it showed the capacity was around 40%. This was done on several undercharged batteries. So I tried it with batteries in my cars that I knew were working properly and charged properly.
